| It is not seldom that special requirements lead to unusual trains of thought. Börger, as the technology leader in the rotary lobe pump sector, has often set the trend of technical reorientation in past years. The latest trend we are setting is now in the biogas sector. If a NaWaRo (German abbreviation for renewable raw materials) biogas plant is put into operation using a displacement pump, during the first 8 to 12 months no problems worth mentioning crop up. But if the DS content and with that the proportion of non-fermentable hard materials in the fermentation substrate increase, the service lives of the rubber coated parts inside the rotating displacement pumps abate. That is, of course, even the case in the otherwise so robust and long lasting BÖRGER rotary lobe pumps. Our maintenance-friendly rotors we have developed so far, such as the rotors with replaceable tips and the Optimum rotors with the especially large sealing surface, promise an improvement in specific biogas applications, but still no outstanding, and above all permanent, solution. |
