The Börger Multichopper

Compact device

in inline implementation

The casing (1) is produced as an one-piece block-housing in gray-cast iron or stainless steel quality. The drive (2) is flanged on directly, so that a compact device is provided.

Shaft seal and quench receiver

The device is equipped as standard with the BÖRGER axial face seal, which has been well-proven a thousand times over in practice. The liquid in the quench space prevents any possible dry-running of the sealing surfaces. Nevertheless, if external liquid escapes the pressure-free overflow allows this to be identified. The support bearing and drive unit are thus protected.

The work tools

Different perforated disks (3) serve as stationary cutting units. These are held with rapid-fastening bolts and usable on both sides through turning over the disk. Multiple-arm support holders (4) with detachable and turnable cutting blades are available as rotating cutting units. After taking off the quick-closing cover (5), the entire cutting unit is accessible in minutes and changeable, where appropriate.

Patent cutting unit adjustment

The cutting blade pre-stressing force can be control-adjusted from outside, when the machine is idle, with key (2) through easy rotation without any dismantling.

For resetting adjustment: By means of keys 1+2, loosen the locknut-protected bolt, apply key 2 as anti-turn device and for the control-check turning and optimize the play of the blades with respect to each other in a fine adjustment using key 1.

The Multichopper - designed for simple and effective operation

The flow-through direction

The flow is always implemented in an axial direction from the cover direction to the driving side. The flanged connections, which are reversible through 180°, always enable correct flow-through. The Multichopper does not have a preferred direction of rotation, however, the flange arrangement guides the flow through the grinding mill to advantage.

The foreign-body collection trough

The spacious container is attached below the flow. As a result of the centrifugal-type movement of the multiple-blade cutting blade holders, as well as the diagonal inflow of the liquid with non-comminutable hard parts, these hard parts are conveyed into the collecting tank reserved for that (6) through support of the rotor surfaces. As a result of the centrifugal movement of the work tools, a whirling motion is set up in the container (6) so that light materials are stirred up again and again.
