Available Materials for Börger Rotary Lobe Pumps

The reliable timing gear of the Börger Rotary Lobe Pump is separated from the wetted
pump parts by a fluid filled intermediate chamber that also quenches the mechanical seal.

The Börger Pumps are equipped with solid, non-product wetted shafts.

The variety of available materials allows customizing to individual applications.

Pump casing:

- Cast iron, wear and corrosion resistant

- Special hardened ductile cast iron

- Stainless steel with high corrosion resistance

Protective casing liners:

- Solid carbon steel, wear resistant

- Corrosion resistant stainless steel

Rotors/Rotary Lobes:

- Entirely rubber coated rotors or pushed-on rotor tips from:

  • SBR (Buna), wear and age resistant
  • NBR (Buna-N), for multiple fluids, oil resistant
  • EPDM, multiple uses for chemicals
  • FPM, very good oil and chemical characteristics
  • CSM, good chemicals and ozone resistance
  • Non-standard materials for special applications

- Rotors from PTFE, for extreme chemical and temperature loads

- Rotors from solid stainless steel for pumping clean, aggressive fluids

Shaft sealing:

- Mechanical seals, for abrasive and corrosive loads, from:

  • Duronite
  • SI/SIC (silicon carbide reaction bonded)
  • SSIC (silicon carbide sintered pressureless) with secondary seals from available customary elastomers

- Special shaft sealings for customized solutions,

 Examples:

  • Glandpackings, with or without seal chamber ring
  • Multi-ring-seals, elastomer or synthetics based
